  • We offer a versatile gold plating service that supports a wide range of jewellery manufacturing needs, including:

    • One-off and custom pieces

    • Batch production

    • Restoration and refinishing

    • Pre-assembly plating

    • Electroplating on cast or fabricated components

All work is completed in-house by our experienced team of jewellers and plating specialists, ensuring fast turnaround times and strict quality control.

We aim to complete standard jobs within 2–5 working days. For complex pieces or high-volume orders, the timeframe may be 5–15 days, depending on the requirements and quantity.

  • Our standard gold plating is a minimum of 3 microns, which provides a durable finish suitable for most jewellery types. For items that require extra resilience, such as rings or frequently worn jewellery, we offer plating up to 18 microns to ensure longer-lasting protection.

We can tailor the thickness to meet your specific needs and usage requirements.

  • Gold plating is more than just a surface finish—it's a key part of the manufacturing process that affects the final quality of your piece. Here's how we do it:

    1. Surface Preparation

Each item is thoroughly cleaned, polished, and degreased. This step removes any dirt, oil, or oxidation and prepares the surface for optimal gold adhesion. We use ultrasonic cleaning and precision polishing to ensure no flaws are transferred into the final plated finish.

    2. Electroplating

The item is submerged in an electrolytic bath containing 18ct gold salts. A controlled electric current deposits a uniform layer of gold across the surface. The plating thickness is carefully monitored—three microns minimum, unless otherwise requested—to ensure both aesthetics and durability.

    3. Post-Plating Finishing

After plating, items are rinsed with deionised water, dried, and quality-checked by our jewellers. This ensures every piece leaves the workshop with a rich, even finish.

  • Absolutely. We regularly work with components at various stages of the manufacturing process, including cast items, unpolished blanks, and final assemblies.

  • Most common jewellery metals, including silver, brass, bronze, and copper, are suitable. However, due to adhesion issues, we do not plate aluminium, stainless steel, or pewter.

  • We aim to complete standard jobs within 2–5 working days. For complex pieces or high-volume orders, depending on the requirements, the timeframe may be 5–15 days, depending on the quantity.

  • Yes, gold plating is a surface coating that naturally wears down over time, particularly on pieces that experience daily wear, such as rings.

When you contact our jewellers, we’ll assess your jewellery and recommend the ideal plating thickness to suit the specific needs of your collection or individual items.
